The Mesa Police Department ensures the finest, well-trained police officers serve the citizens of Mesa to uphold the high values and standards our community should expect and deserve. The Mesa Police Department continues to be proactive in recruiting and hiring practices to meet the ever-changing challenges the law enforcement profession faces.

Our hiring process is extremely in-depth and each of our prospective police recruits are thoroughly vetted to ensure they do not have a history of abuse, racism, xenophobia, homophobia/transphobia, or discrimination. This type of behavior is not tolerated and would exclude any prospective applicant for any job within the Mesa Police Department. Each police officer recruit also must successfully complete psychological and polygraph examinations. The Mesa Police Department is a diverse and inclusive organization and welcomes men and women of all backgrounds. 

Our Department is fully committed to ensuring our sworn personnel reflect the demographics of our diverse community.
